Rolling Through PE

Working with Skatetime School Programs, Mrs. Steinke offered our students an exciting new unit in PE this year: Roller Skating!

Skatetime School Programs is a comprehensive, curriculum-based skating unit brought directly to schools. At no cost to the school (us!), it is designed to engage students of all ages and promote a variety of athletic skills, including balance, coordination, and motor skills. Of course, while these focuses are important, most important to our students was the element of “fun!”, and it’s safe to say this unit was a crowd favorite!

Bring on the Creativity!

Once students got a feel for the basics, the lights went off & the party started! How often to do you walk into a gymnasium to discover its been transformed into a praise & worship roller rink?

Shout out to our rockstar parent volunteer Suz Koch for her generous donation of party lights!

Additionally, our 8th grade class took their skills one step further in their efforts to play “roller” hockey:

Thank you, Mrs. Steinke & Skatetime School Programs, for bringing our students weeks of healthy, active fun!
