Starting our Morning with Mary
Thank you to our 7th-grade class for leading this year’s May Crowning procession!
May Crowning is a beautiful tradition in the Catholic faith that honors and celebrates our Blessed Mother Mary. In our annual adaptation of this tradition, students process with Mary to and from school Mass at St. Francis Catholic church, where they also “crown” her and honor her with flowers. As Father Jacob summarized:
“Today is a wonderful day. We celebrate Our Lady of Fatima and today we crowned our Blessed Mother as Queen of Heaven and of Earth. It's a moment of great joy for us to remember that God has given us our Blessed Mother Mary as our mother too. We ask and pray for her intercession, especially in the month of May, asking her for all of those graces that come from her son, Jesus Christ.”
It was a beautiful morning honoring our Mother Mary, and we are so blessed to be able to engage in these beloved celebrations of our faith as a school community -
Mother Mary, Pray for Us!
