Congratulations to our 2nd Grade Class!
Recently, students in Mrs. Tollefson’s 2nd Grade class received the sacrament of First Communion, and today they were able to gather with their class and school to celebrate this milestone together!
It was a beautiful morning celebrating a beautiful sacrament, and it is a tradition that reminds us so clearly of how special & unique Catholic education really is. For our students, the Catholic faith (and its sacraments) isn’t just a part of their lives on Sundays, but every day, and as Fr. Jacob explained in light of this morning’s celebration:
“In order for plants to grow tall and bear much fruit, they must first grow roots. The beautiful part about learning here as a Catholic school & teaching you about Jesus is that it roots us in our faith, and the one thing that roots us in our faith more than anything else is our Lord Jesus in the Eucharist. What’s wonderful about this is not only does it root us in our faith, but it also helps us grow in our life of faith…And so, for our second graders, this is a moment in which your faith has been nourished, and where you have grown deep roots to be able to grow in the life of holiness.”
We are so blessed to be able to stand alongside our students in celebration of this milestone, and we invite you to join us in praying for them as they continue to experience & celebrate this moment in their faith!
