Brainerd City Council Clears the Way for Future Growth

In case you missed it, City Council recently approved multiple measures that will greatly aid the entire St. Francis community in its pursuit of growth and expansion. A total of 4 measures were approved, and while we are thrilled about all of them, one is notably more meaningful to us as a school: the vacation of North 9th Street between the school and church! Not only will this vacation significantly improve the safety of our students and staff, but it also clears the way for us to continue moving forward on our facility master plan. Full of exciting details, main elements of this plan include more classrooms & more community space, and most notably, it even holds the potential for us to become the first Catholic high school in the Brainerd Lakes Area.

Of course, we can’t offer a Catholic high school tomorrow. What we can do, however, is begin to take on this mindset of growth. The good news is: we’ve already started. Earlier this year, we had notable interest in Kindergarten at St. Francis and made the decision to add a second class. This being said, we want to FILL this class, and we need help to do it! Whether you’re a current or past parent, interested parent, school staff member, strong supporter of Catholic education, or even just a Catholic who is passionate about your faith, we need help spreading the word and acting on the fact that St. Francis of the Lakes Catholic School is Growing, and we currently have space in our Preschool - Kindergarten classes!
