Spring Music Update
SPRING SHOWCASE- BAND AND CHOIR
Our Spring Showcase will be on Tuesday May 9th in the St. Francis gymnasium. We will have an Art Show at 6pm and music program will start at 6:30pm. Students should meet in the cafeteria at 6:15pm.
This Showcase will include an Art Show featuring works from all St. Francis students. The performance will include our St. Francis Band and Choir students. Attendance is required.
Dress is Sunday's Best. No Jeans, No tennis shoes, No T-shirts. If girls are wearing dress, length must be below knee. Tops must cover your shoulders.
VALLEYFAIR
4th-8th grade band and choir students have the opportunity to go to Valleyfair on Friday, June 2nd. Permission forms were sent home with band and choir students last week. Forms and money are due Friday, May 12th. Parents are welcomed to chaperone!
Students need to arrive at school by 6:45am, the buses will leave at 7am. We will be returning to St. Francis at 8-8:30pm, there will be school reach call when we are in Little Falls.
WANT TO JOIN CHOIR?
Sign up for Choir for the 2023-2024 school year!
Students that would like to sign up for choir for next year may do so by filling out a form that Mrs. Jewell has. Choir is for all students who will be in 4th-8th grade next year. Choir is separate from our band/music class, which means any student can be in choir! Practices are held during IRT so no class time is missed.
The choir performs for the Grandparents Day program, Christmas program, and Spring concert. We go caroling in December. Please email Mrs. Jewell with any questions.
WANT TO JOIN BAND?
If your child is interested in joining band please fill out the form that Mrs. Pederson has by Friday May 12th. Once the interest form is filled out, your child will be able to try out a few instruments to see what is their best fit.
·Instruments offered for beginners are: Flute, Alto Saxophone, Trombone, Baritone, Trumpet, Clarinet, Percussion (2 years of piano lesson preferred)

Band is open to any students who will be in 4th-8th grade next year. Please email or call Mrs. Peterson if you have any questions.
BAND
Mrs. Peterson is back from maternity leave for the rest of the school year! Weekly band lessons will be starting again till the end of the year. Please review the lesson schedule below and help remind your child of their times. Thank you!
If you are renting an instrument from the school, they will need to be returned to Mrs. Peterson on Tuesday May 30th.
CANTORS
Cantors are needed for the 23-24 school year. Cantors sing at our weekly Masses. Please contact Mrs. Jewell if interested.
MUSIC CLASSESS
We are watching a musical in all of our music classes. Pre K through 2nd grade are watching "The Jungle Book" and 3rd through 8th grade are watching "Oliver" from 1968. 3rd grader are finishing a unit on flutophones.
SUMMER PIANO LESSONS
Piano lessons will be offered this summer starting the 1st week of June. Please contact Mrs. Jewell for days and times available and for more information.
